| Il ponte de la Latte si trova nei pressi di campo San Stin vicino alla Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista (vedi sulla mappa). È stato smontato e portato via con il pretesto di un restauro. Al suo posto è stato ricollocato un manufatto falso e realizzato grossolanamente. Nel caso di questo ponte, sembra che si sia fatto il calco di una sola metà, fondendone poi due copie, come ben si arguisce dalla scritta rovesciata su uno dei due corrimano (prima foto). Il ponte originale però era sghembo e con ringhiere di diversa lunghezza. Di conseguenza, una delle due ringhiere “cresce” di una trentina di centimetri, invadendo la vetrina del negozio in disuso. Si nota la piombatura del precedente attacco sul pilastro retrostante (terza foto). Sul lato opposto della stessa ringhiera, dopo la collocazione in opera si sono verificate fratture da contrazione del metallo (seconda foto). È un fenomeno frequente nelle fusioni nuove realizzate con imperizia ma impensabile in un getto che fosse vecchio di molti decenni. Sono state riparate con il ponte in opera, e questo induce anche dubbi sulla natura del metallo, in quanto la ghisa è una lega che pone moltissimi problemi di saldatura. |
The bridge of the Latte is located in Frari area, nearby the Scuola Grande of San Giovanni Evangelista (see on the map). It has been taken apart and away under the pretext of restoring it. On the contrary, it has been substituted with a rough forgery. In the instance of this bridge, it looks like they only replicated one half of it, as can be understood by the mirrored writing on one of the handrails (first photo). The bridge not being symmetrical, with rails of different length. Cause of this fact, one of the two rails is about thirty centimeters longer, going into the window of an abandoned shop. The lead filling of the previous fastening can be seen on the pillar laying behind (third photo). On the opposite side of the same rail, after collocation on site, some rifts due to metal contraction happened (second photo). It is a common phaenomenon in unskilled new casts but unthinkable in a casting many decades old. They have been repaired on site after forgery recollocation. Furthermore, this create a doubt on the metal too, as the original casting iron has big problems to be solded. |
