La ruota originale dello scappamento
The original escapement wheel

scruotaa.jpg, 29 kB

The original escapement wheel, six rayed in brass alloy. Edges' profiling is cared and elegant (B), refining is magistrally done.
As can be noticed, the pins (A) are built-on-purpose steel pieces, bushed in the brass, quite different by the new industrial nuts and bolts that can be seen in the next photo.
The mechanism was on place and working from 1858 up to 1997, when the clock was unmounted to be "restored".
It worked fine for 140 years, indeed, while Mr. Brusa (the "restauration" ager) has been able to write: "We soon realized that, to recover from the unsecure state in which the movement find itself, it would have been unavoidable to pass over a merely conservative criterion".
This claim, in the light of known facts, is totally lacking of sense.
